new sport but also the thrill of being outdoors in some of
the most beautiful locations in the world. These locations are often
teeming with other wildlife such as wild boar, deer,
mountain lions, and black or brown bear. Camping, with the

Fly
Fishing Equipment
Choosing
the proper fly rod and reel is step number
one. Finding
and collecting flies would be the next step and is a
sport in itself. The flies are made out of feathers or
fur to imitate the natural food to attract the fish.
There are
master fly makers in every well known fishing town around
the world. They are beautiful as well as
functional.
The fly rods are also collector’s items. New rods can be found
in almost any pro fishing store, but an antique fly
fishing rod can be costly and may only found in an out of
the way specialty shop. One may not want use
one of these for fishing but as a display item in your
den or office.

Fishing Tips
Mastering
the difficult technique of casting the line with the
lightweight fly on the end will be the step for the beginner
fly fishing novice that is the most rewarding.
In the general sport of
fishing there are several casting methods. In fly fishing the
fisherman is casting the line not the lure. This method can be
quite difficult to master since the fly is quite a bit
lighter than a normal fishing lure. If you are a beginner
fly fishing student it is best to take a few lessons from
a pro. There
are many resorts that have a local resident or staff
person that is a seasoned fly fisherman on site to
provide a few private or group lessons.
The fly is
too light to be cast and as a result it seems to float as it
follows the unfurling of the line that has been properly
cast. The fly
fishing line is a bit heavier than normal fishing line
making it easier to cast. The fly fisherman holds
the rod in his dominate hand and pulls out the line with the
other hand while gently moving the rod in a backward and
forward motion.
When properly cast, the loops of line will unfurl completely
before moving the rod in the opposite
direction.
The colorful fly will land on the water in a natural
motion thus attracting the fish both by its beauty and
movement.
Book a Fly Fishing Trip!
It is best
to book a fly fishing trip with a friend or colleague who
may be a master of fly fishing and willing to give you some
hands on lessons. The sport of fishing
requires some patience. Patience is equally
required for the beginner fly fishing student.
